On October 15–16, 2016, Koblenz became a vibrant center of Ayurveda, welcoming nearly 2,000 visitors and 150 international experts to the 2nd European World Ayurveda Congress (EWAC#2).

Hosted by the European Ayurveda Association (EUAA), the event set a milestone for Ayurveda’s future in Europe. “With EWAC#2, we’ve laid the foundation for Ayurveda’s next chapter in Europe,” said organizer Dr. Harsha Gramminger. “Here, pioneers came together — ready to take bold steps and succeed.”

The congress featured high-level participation, including Indian Health Minister Shrepad Naik, senior government delegates, and Ayurveda icon Dr. Shriguru Balaji Tambe. Under the moderation of Sanjay Tambe, guests enjoyed inspiring lectures, dynamic panel discussions, and rich cultural exchange.

The event gathered global thought leaders such as Dr. Vasant Lad (USA), Dr. Vinod Verma (India), and Karma Miranda (Switzerland), who praised the congress as a worldwide convergence of Ayurvedic wisdom and innovation.

A bustling exhibition market with over 50 exhibitors showcased authentic Indian products — from fresh spices and homemade ghee to traditional sweets — offering visitors a true taste of Ayurveda. Meanwhile, massage, yoga, and meditation sessions provided hands-on experiences in mindfulness and well-being.

Thanks to GLS Treuhand Future Health Foundation25 young doctors and students joined the congress through scholarships, engaging in special networking sessions to explore Ayurveda’s role in modern medicine.

EWAC#2 also marked the launch of a new global strategy for Ayurveda, supported by political figures such as EU Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, former Hungarian Prime Minister Dr. Peter Medgyessy, and MEP Aloizs Peterle, who conveyed greetings from the European Parliament.

With sold-out sessions, lively debates, and a vibrant community spirit, EWAC#2 left visitors eager for more — and set the stage for Ayurveda’s continued growth in Europe and beyond.
