Short Bio:

• Coen van der Kroon holds a degree in Classical Languages (1989) with a thesis on Hippocratic Greek medicine in comparison with Eastern medicine, including Ayurveda. 
• He deepened his studies in various natural healing methods, including Ayurveda. 
• From 1999, he studied Ayurveda for two years at Dr. Vasant Lad’s famous Ayurvedic Institute.
• He also trained under other internationally renowned Ayurvedic experts such as Dr. David Frawley, Dr. Robert Svoboda and Dr. Sunil Joshi. 
• In 2005, Coen van der Kroon founded the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies in the Netherlands, now the Netherlands Ayurveda Academy (www.ayurvedanetherlands.com) in Amsterdam, where he is the Program Director and Professor.
• This academy offers a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in Ayurveda with 240 ECTs. 
• Coen has published over 100 articles on Ayurveda in recent years, is the author of three books on Ayurveda and other natural healing methods, and is currently working on a book on Ghee, a book on Ayurveda and nutrition, and a book on Yoga and Ayurveda.
