European Ayurveda Association (EUAA)

The European Ayurveda Association (EUAA) is a federation of Ayurvedic organizations, hospitals, educational institutions, therapists, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of Ayurvedic products. The EUAA now represents institutions and organizations from 16 of the 32 countries in the European Economic Area (EEA).

The EUAA is committed to the recognition and dissemination of Ayurveda as a holistic medicine in Europe. The main objectives are: (1) Patient Empowerment and Freedom of Choice of Therapy:  Patients should exercise their right of the free choice of therapy including Ayurvedic treatments. (2) Health insurance reimbursement: Insurance reimbursements should cover the cost as for other medical treatments including Ayurvedic interventions. (3) Enabling Authentic Ayurveda:  Ayurvedic health professional should offer products and services of the highest quality and be bound to the highest quality of training and training guidelines. (4) Standards for Ayurvedic products that assures the safety of patients without compromising the fundamentals, epistemology of the 5,000-year-old system of medicine but recognizing its applicability in Europe.

To achieve this, the EUAA is working with national and European Union health authorities, health insurance companies, professional associations, universities and training institutes. It also cooperates with Ayurvedic organizations from around the world to share information that help inform patients, public and professional audiences about Ayurveda. A very close and an important link and dialogue is maintained with the Ministry of AYUSH and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The EUAA’s office holders are all volunteers and work on an honorary basis. The organization is therefore dependent on donations and support. Please help us to promote a strong Ayurveda for a healthy Europe!
